What causes allergies?
Your immune system produces substances known as antibodies. When you have allergies, your immune system makes antibodies that identify allergens as harmful, even though they aren’t; this causes allergy symptoms.

Allergy Skin Test
A skin prick/scratch test checks for immediate allergic reactions. This test is usually done to identify allergies to pollen, mold, pet dander, dust mites, and foods. Skin prick tests are virtually painless, but mild discomfort is to be expected during testing.
